Cafe 22 in Winnipeg

My friend and I had a super stressful experience at this restaurant today! It was extremely hectic and the employees looked absolutely miserable. No one smiled at us, not even the hostess or our server. As a matter of fact, our server was rude and brushed off my friend and I from start to finish. Food was tasty but the experience was awful. Ps. They did not respect the rules of social distancing protocols and absolutely no server was wearing a mask; not even the bartender. There were no floor markings and the tables and servers were much closer than 6ft apart at most times.

Overall I enjoyed this place. The food and service was good. The interior is dark and cozy with a modern feel. And the pizza was awesome. I wasn't really a fan of the pasta as the sauce was a bit thick. That said, the price was much lower then I expected!

Beautiful outside and inside, tasty food, with happy hour drinks.

Good experience! 12 dollars for 6 slices of pizza, not bad... It's not big, though. But it's fair enough. The Sangría was good as well.

IMHO. One of the best pizza stops. Now remodelled with more seating and atmosphere. Large selection of beer on tap.

Rude staff, the bar seating area looks like an actually cheap cafeteria furniture. When asked if there is something available in the lounge the answer was simple no, and when we decided to leave because of it no one cared and were like whatever. Would not go back

Good tasting food and a warm atmosphere.

Maybe my review is slightly biased as I have only been to Cafe 22 in the summer. Love the patio! It sunny and the drinks are fabulous. Good prices and they have the most kick-butt calzones in the city. The crust is amazing as are the choices for fillings. A great place to get together with friends.

The service was great, food, and prices. I think Tiffany was our server and she took great care of us 4 and we took care of her as well.

Great service and an infinitely interesting menu. Had the 'Hotline Heavy' pizza, your choice of 4 toppings. Very good crust, ask for extra sauce! Local craft beer on tap is a little overpriced, but there is a happy hour special, even on Saturday!

A very beautiful and serene place to dine and wine

This is my go-to location. I typically get pizza either the stone fire or pizza hotline. I would say the staff is generally really nice. I have come across staff with a terrible attitude (I felt like this person was disgusted that they had to talk to customers, there was an eye roll and other negative facial expressions)...happened recently. Maybe having a bad day... who knows.. but if you’re at work keep it professional, I was nothing but polite and friendly towards her. The quality of the food is really good... I’ve never had an issue with an order being wrong or not to standard. Not enough to stop me from going back, everyone else is great!

My godfather, uncle and our friends came for dinner and had such fast service, an INCREDIBLE waitress named Tiffany, who was funny and kind and was so so polite. The food was SOOO yummy and prepared so fast and it was insane the difference you can taste from their stone fire pizza. You should definitely be having your pizza nights here at café 22 and with Tiffany!!

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Café 22. It has a lounge feel with comfortable couches and seats and dim accented lighting at night. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and the food tasted good. The servers were attentive but also gave us our own space as appropriate. I’m not gluten-free but a friend with me order a pizza with a non-wheat-based crust and apparently it was pretty good!

If you want a quiet time, this place may mot be a good choice...quite busy in the evening, not that its bad though...excellent service I must say...

I work above cafe 22 at the pizza hotline call centre, and I can definitely say that this pizza was amazing. They had all the toppings on the pizza that I requested, and didn't go light on the ranch sauce base. Thank you for the great pizza!

Okay, so I accidentally clicked post without sharing my thoughts and I got distracted but here's my review. This place is actually one of the top places to go to in Winnipeg and on Corydon!! I absolutely love this place because they have amazingly delicious coal fired pizzas!! I love how serviceable the staff their is and also the owner. Everyone is so in tune with providing a comfortable, friendly, and "homie" environment but in a setting where the beautiful ambiance of a lounge is clearly present. It's just very well-balanced all-in-all. The only thing, not a huge fan of the pastas but will definitely give it another try as this is my go-to place on Corydon for sure, hands down!! They also have an amazing patio as well for the summer! So, delicious coal fired pizzas, amazing atmosphere, and simply amazing staff to boot. Honestly I'd give this a 4.5, if I had the option. So a must try place for sure!!!!😋😋To the owner, I apologize for the delay in the review. I hope this helps😅

Enjoyed the venue and have to say the waiter that served us was very attentive and good. This was a first time experience and will be returning.

Meh? I had dinner with a few friends a while back, and it was alright. They have a pretty good beer selection and the stone-fired pizza was decent (but, it came out a bit soggy). Dropped by for a drink a few weeks later and hardly got service; our server seemed a bit too busy comping drinks for his buddies to pay attention to his other tables.

Nice patio! Inside is super chill with big cozy chairs. Good date night spot. Great pizzas. Never had a bad experience here.

Love the food and the vibe of this place. Oven fired pizza makes all the difference. You have to try the gluten free pizza made with a cauliflower based crust. No loss of flavour or crispness that you would get from a regular crust. Attentive staff with helpful suggestions of most popular choices.

It was a nice place. We went in the morning so it was almost empty. The food was really good but I do think the drink is small for the price🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

We went as a family and loved it!! From various pizzas to calazon all were fantastic. Especially happy for my wife and the gluten free option.

I like cafe 22. Personally it’s a really nice place, good food and great price.Had a few issues with serving sometimes. Last time the server was slow, they brought food one by one, with more than 5 minutes in between. So my wife was almost done when I had my pizza, that’s totally something easy to fix.

Tasty, good service, and casual decor made for a great beer and 'za get together.

Great atmosphere. Servers were friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. Food was delicious and got to our table promptly. We didn't end up staying for dessert, but wish we did because what they offered sounded amazing.

A friend of mine works here and everyone is nothing but polite. Respectful of space and always around when you need something! I found it to be dark, personal preference. Perfect for a date night or bar hop!

Very nice place, well decorated comfortable with nice seating options. Stuff is friendly , polite and helpful. The food is great, lots choices and tasty Italian cuisine. A really good choice to enjoy a meal with friends or for couples. A plus, they don't have huge TV's hanging all over the place .

Had some delicious cauliflower crust pizzas there, with quite refined toppings that worked wonderfully together and really made for a truly pleasant pizza to eat. The ambiance is also super cozy, and for an impromptu "walked by and decided why not" date, it was quite romantic with the dimmed lighting, lounge atmosphere and candles lit everywhere.

Decent beer selection. There were about 8 or 9 local breweries on the menu, plus a good selection of bigger beers. I had an Italian Meat pizza. The crust was crispy on the outside, but still doughy in the middle. Perfectly cooked. I like that they garnished it with fresh basil. When you order a meat pizza you don't expect that. The basil tasted like it was very fresh, I suspect they either grow their own or work with local growers. Prices were reasonable and I had a great experience.

The newly renovated Cafe 22 has updated to a modern, trendy look from its old inset booths and tree with twinkle lights. While the new look is sleek and glossy, it lacks the charm the old place had. However, the new renovation allowed for the space to be made larger and that is definitely a good thing. The wine menu is decent, the pizza is delicious and the service is great. Whether you go here for a glass of wine or for dinner it’s bound to be good.
